Marc Peeters was born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1985, to a linguist mother and an engineer father. His upbringing was a mix of dinner-table debates about philosophy and afternoons tinkering with circuit boards. From a young age, Marc was captivated by technology, not just for what it could do, but for what it could mean for society.

In high school, Marc built a rudimentary weather station from salvaged parts, connecting it to a website so friends could check the temperature online. This blend of hardware and storytelling became his signature.

Marc studied Computer Science and Communication at KU Leuven, developing both his technical chops and his ability to explain complex topics in plain language. After graduating, he joined a tech magazine as a junior editor, covering product launches and reviewing gadgets. He quickly developed a reputation for being skeptical of hype, preferring to dig into whether a new technology actually solved real problems.

In his late 20s, Marc transitioned into consulting, advising companies on which technologies to invest in — and which to avoid. He has a knack for spotting patterns early, from the rise of smartphones to the current boom in AI-driven design tools.

Today, Marc splits his time between research, writing, and speaking engagements. His articles often weave in analogies, comparing blockchain to ancient record-keeping methods or AI to a particularly diligent but unimaginative intern.

He’s also a careful consumer: Marc never buys the first model of a gadget, preferring to let the bugs be worked out. Still, he’ll spend hours reading reviews, dissecting specs, and imagining how the device could evolve in the next generation.
